We started Save & Seal because we were tired of watching Melbourne homes suffer from leaks, mould, and expensive rebuilds due to one thing: cement tile grout. It’s the industry standard. It’s A-okay in the building code. And it’s been letting people down for decades.
Most people don’t realise their cement grout isn’t waterproof… until the mould comes back, the paint starts bubbling, or the tiles lift and they’re up for a $10,000 shower rebuild or a $25,000 balcony reconstruction.
And yet, cement grout keeps getting used, because it’s cheap and easy for builders to install.
Cement-based grout has been the go-to for so long that many don’t even know there’s an alternative. But epoxy grout — a two-part waterproof resin — has been available in Australia for over 20 years. Originally developed for outdoor and industrial settings, it’s UV-resistant, fully waterproof, and built to last decades, not months.
So why isn’t everyone using it?
Because epoxy is harder to work with. It’s more expensive. It requires proper training. And most tradies — even some regrouting companies — don’t have the skill, patience, or team to do it right. Instead, they skim a layer of porous cement grout from the top, leaving water trapped beneath your tiles, and then “re-seal” your wet area with more cement grout.
That’s not how we work.
We cut out the old grout to the full depth of the tile, remove the trapped water with a wet vac, and regrout your tiles with waterproof epoxy — the way it should have been done in the first place.
It’s the hard way, but the right way.
What we do is narrow, and we like it that way. It means we’re experts in the one thing most builders and tilers still get wrong.
We’ve seen how some tradies operate. Vague quotes. Poor comms. Sloppy work. And when something goes wrong, they disappear.
That’s not us. Never has been.
We show up on time. We explain what’s actually going on behind your tiles. And if it’s fixable, we fix it properly. If it isn’t fixable, we’ll tell you straight, and we won’t take your money.
Then we back our work with a 10-year warranty. Not because it sounds good. Because we don’t expect to be back.
“Highly recommended family-owned business, distinctly different from the sub-contractor model used by many.”

“Transparent and genuine with quotes. They came for inspection, told me the issue, and explained all nuances. Not pushy.”

“They actually quoted the right amount of time to make sure when they went to jobs, they could do quality work.”
