Why would you “re-seal” a wet area with a non-waterproof material?
Cement grout is porous; it isn’t waterproof. Epoxy is. Most people don’t realise how big the difference is… until they’ve paid for both.
A rushed cement grout job
- Skim a few mm off the top of the old grout
- “Re-seal” with just a surface layer of grout, leaving water trapped underneath
- Use cement-based grout (not waterproof)
- Apply sealer from a spray can that can wash off within 30 days

First, we cut out the old porous grout and vacuum the trapped water. Then we’ll do a full tile regrout with waterproof epoxy. Then we clean up after ourselves, leaving you with a waterproof shower that looks brand new. All in a day.
